Spurs' 1981 FA Cup-winning goalkeeper Milija Aleksic has died aged 61.

Aleksic played for Luton from 1976-78 before moving to White Hart Lane.

A statement on Tottenham's official website read: "We were shocked to learn of the passing of Milija Aleksic, who passed away suddenly in Johannesburg on Wednesday night. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time."

Born in Newcastle-under-Lyme to a Yugoslavian father, Aleksic's career started at Port Vale in 1968 and also included a stint at Plymouth.

He also had spells with non-league Eastwood and Stafford Rangers - winning the 1972 FA Trophy with the latter.
