West Ham boss Slaven Bilic has accused his side of trying to play "too sexy" during Saturday's 2-2 draw with Chelsea.

The Hammers took the lead twice at Stamford Bridge, courtesy of goals from Manuel Lanzini and Andy Carroll, but a late Cesc Fabregas penalty rescued a point for the hosts.

Victory would have moved West Ham up into fourth place in the table - ahead of Manchester City - but instead they stay fifth and one point behind Manuel Pellegrini's team.

“We tried to play like, a little bit sloppy, too sexy, not penetrating enough,” insisted Bilic.

"In the second half we started well but then there was a period where they were pressing us - like they normally do in the majority of their home games.

"Their players from the bench made an impact. We should have scored a third goal."

Fabregas's spot kick was contentious, given that Michail Antonio appeared to foul Ruben Loftus-Cheek outside the penalty area, and Bilic admits he was 'gutted' to lose in such a manner.

"To concede a goal that late is gutting, no matter how you concede it. But to concede from a penalty that wasn't a penalty is unacceptable."

Next up for West Ham is a home game against strugglers Crystal Palace next Saturday.
