Senegal vs Equatorial Guinea: Prediction, kick off time, TV, live stream, team news, h2h - AFCON match preview

Jonathan Gorrie30 January 2022

Senegal will be strong favourites to reach the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations as they take on Equatorial Guinea this evening.

Packed to the rafters with brilliant talent, Aliou Cisse’s side have only actually scored three goals at the AFCON so far but, crucially, are yet to concede.

Standing in their way of the final four is an Equatorial Guinea side who are among the many surprises during the tournament so far. Having come past Mali in a penalty shootout epic, they’ve only added to the shock win over Algeria in the group stages.

Still, Senegal are surely favourites. Exciting that may not be but in terms of settling a game down and ensuring their opposition can not build up a head of steam, they look well-suited to avoiding an upset.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Senegal vs Equatorial Guinea is scheduled for a 7pm GMT kick-off time tonight - Sunday January 30, 2022.

The Japoma Stadium in Douala will host the match.

Senegal vs Equatorial Guinea prediction

Senegal just look tailor-made for tournament football. In many ways, they’re too boring to suffer a shock, refusing to be drawn into the chaos that usually precedes them.

Senegal to win 1-0.
