West Ham recorded a shock 3-1 victory over Liverpool at Upton Park to take them above their opponents into eighth place.

A hectic first half saw the hosts go 2-0 up inside seven minutes, Winston Reid with a close-range header after 75 seconds before Diafro Sakho's sent a deft chip loping over Simon Mignolet to double the lead.

Raheem Sterling's right-foot shot got the Reds back in it before the half-hour.

But the equaliser would not come, and Hammers new recruit Morgan Amalfitano came off the bench to complete the scoring in the 88th minute.
