Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson is determined for his side to show fans there are “lots good times ahead” as they prepare to welcome Arsenal on Wednesday night.

The Eagles are hosting their London rivals at Selhurst Park, with fans able to attend for the first time this calendar year for what is likely to be Hodgson’s final game in charge.

The 73-year-old’s contract with Palace expires at the end of the current season and he is expected to leave the club in the summer.

And Hodgson wants his side - who fought hard to beat Aston Villa 3-2 on Sunday - to show supporters that there is plenty to be positive about going forward.

“We have got a couple of days to make certain we are in the right frame of mind from the start against Arsenal, another top team,” said Hodgson.

“We have got our fans back, not as many as we’d like, but we have got a number of them back.

“And we want to show them that his has been a very good season for the football club and there’s lots of good times ahead for them as well.”
