Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho can’t wait to enter Galatasaray’s fiery den

Jose Mourinho anticipates a fiery atmosphere in Istanbul tonight but says that will not affect Real Madrid as they aim to book their place in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Real go into the second leg 3-0 up on Galatasaray and Mourinho knows the home fans will try and unsettle his team.

“In 2003, when I was coach of Porto, we played against the Turkish team Denizlispor and won the first leg 6-1 but saw a totally different team in the return [which finished 2-2],” said the Real boss.

“The stadium was full and the atmosphere was totally different.

“We expect a sold-out stadium with a very intense environment tonight. Although the supporters can be intimidating, my players and I thrive in that kind of atmosphere.”

Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp has told his team they are in a good position to progress despite the risk of losing to an away goal.

A 0-0 draw with Malaga in the away leg of the quarter-final means the Spaniards need only a scoring draw tonight to go through.

But Klopp said: “We’ve heard too many negative comments about the first-leg result. Everything that has happened in this campaign has been extremely positive.”
