Sergio Aguero's goal for Manchester City against Arsenal on Sunday has set up a tense three-way battle with Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy for the Golden Boot on the final day of the Premier League season.

Tottenham star Kane had taken advantage of Vardy's two-game ban to move three goals ahead of his England team-mate in the Premier League goal standings with 25 goals.

But not content with a title winners' medal, Vardy struck twice against Everton in a fine 3-0 win at the King Power Stadium on Saturday to cap a stunning season for the Foxes.

Vardy had the chance to move level on goals with Kane from the penalty spot - his second spot-kick of the game - but slammed his effort well over the bar to stay on 24 goals.

That miss means Kane still sits top of the rankings with a game left to play, though Aguero is now just a goal behind after scoring in City's Sunday draw with Arsenal.

Vardy has one more chance to finish the season as top scorer, with a trip to Chelsea on May 15.

Kane will look to hold onto top spot as Spurs travel to Newcastle on the final day of the season, where a point would seal second place for Mauricio Pochettino's side.

Aguero, meanwhile, will have to be at his best again to help City beat Swansea to try and keep Manchester United at bay in the race for a top-four finish.
