Pardew hit by Ben Arfa blow

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew expects to be without Hatem Ben Arfa for Saturday’s clash at home to Queens Park Rangers and two more matches over Christmas.

The midfielder missed Saturday’s 3-1 defeat by Manchester City after aggravating a hamstring injury.

Pardew said: “Hatem looks like he will miss the next two or three with the injury he has got. We can’t risk him.”

Ben Arfa, one of the few Newcastle players to shine this season, is also set to sit out the Boxing Day game away to Manchester United and the match at Arsenal three days later.
