Nikola Zigic: I will adapt to Premier League

11 April 2012

Birmingham summer signing Nikola Zigic is confident he will be able to adjust from La Liga to the physical demands of the Barclays Premier League.

The Serbia international has had little time off this summer after the World Cup, having been part of the City squad during their two-week tour of Hong Kong and China which ends today.

But the 6ft 8in striker, signed from Valencia for £6million, believes he will cope with the power and pace of the top flight in this country.

Zigic said: "La Liga is quite physical too. It may not be as fast as the Premier League but I will certainly do my best to adapt.

"I'm pretty sure I will be able to do that. I do have to adapt a bit physically but I am working very, very hard on that in training to step up the pace.

"I have also noticed in training that Birmingham are a good passing team and that is a good style to have to adapt to."
