New injury setback for Jonathan Woodgate

Jonathan Woodgate is running out of time to prove he deserves a new Tottenham deal after his latest injury setback.

Woodgate, whose current contract expires at the end of the season, limped out of yesterday's friendly against Barnet with a calf problem.

It is his second aborted comeback in a month after he was injured following a substitute appearance against AC Milan. Boss Harry Redknapp had considered offering Woodgate a pay-as-you-play deal for next season if he could prove his
fitness.
