Chelsea have announced the signing of attacking midfielder Nathan from Brazilian club Atletico Paranaense.
Jose Mourinho could be forgiven for resting on his laurels having delivered Chelsea their first title in five years but the Portuguese has started his summer recruitment early with the acquisition of attacking midfielder Nathan from Brazilian club Atletico Paranaense.
A statement on Chelsea's website read: "The 19-year-old Brazilian will join us on 1 July. Nathan, who has passed a medical and agreed personal terms, has earned a reputation as an attacking midfielder with an eye for goal and impressive pace."
Nathan said on chelseafc.com: "I am very happy to be joining Chelsea, the champions of England, and I hope I will be able to learn a lot and develop my game."
The Brazilian's full name is Nathan Allan de Souza. He has impressed while representing Brazil at under-17 and under-20 level and scored five goals in five games at the Under-17 World Cup in 2013.
Nathan announced the deal on Monday on his Instagram page.
He wrote: "A dream is coming true! Thank you Chelsea for trusting in me, I will do my best to support my team on reaching new achievements."
Meanwhile, Chelsea's hopes of signing Inter Milan's Mauro Icardi have hit a snag after the Serie A side offered the striker a new £10 million bumper contract.
