Chelsea star N'Golo Kante is the highest-ranking Premier League player in this year's Ballon d'Or voting.

The Chelsea midfielder, who was voted Chelsea Players' Player of the Year last season and named in the FIFPro World XI second team a few weeks ago, was finished in eighth place in the voting.

The France international became the first player to earn back-to-back Premier League winners' medals with different teams when he added Chelsea's triumph to that of Leicester City in 2015/16.

He beat Tottenham rival Harry Kane, who was named 10th after being named in the 30-man shortlist for the first time.

Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne is the Premier League best attacking midfielder with his 14th-place showing, as Kante's Chelsea team-mate Eden Hazard finished in 19th place.

Two Liverpool players finish off the Premier League contingent, with Sadio Mane in 23rd and Philippe Coutinho in joint 29th alongside Dries Mertens.
