Millwall's Kenny Jackett puts League before FA Cup

18 February 2013

Kenny Jackett has told Millwall to forget about next month’s FA Cup quarter-final against Blackburn and concentrate on turning their Championship form around.

Millwall reached the last eight with Saturday’s 3-0 win at Luton but have slipped nine points from the play-off places following four straight League defeats.

Jackett wants to get back on track in the Championship before the Blackburn game on March 9/10, starting with tomorrow’s visit of Peterborough. He said: “We have got four important League games before that which could have a big bearing on our season.

“We’ve worked very hard to get ourselves into a good position in the League and then have dropped off the pace in recent weeks. Our priority is to rediscover our form in the Championship and then hope to take that into the Cup tie.”

Goalkeeper David Forde is pleased to be facing Blackburn and said: “A home draw against a team from our own division is as good as we could have hoped for.”
