Millwall and QPR on alert for Charlie Austin

Millwall and Queens Park Rangers have been put on red alert by the news that Swindon striker Charlie Austin is set to hand in a transfer request at the County Ground.

Both Championship clubs were interested in the 21-year-old last summer, with Millwall having a £800,000 bid rejected.

And Austin, who has already scored 17 goals for the League One club this season, is desperate for a move to the Championship after seeing Hull's £1million bid for him turned down last week.

But it is thought the former bricklayer, who signed for Swindon from Poole Town in 2009, would favour a move to London rather than Hull.

And Austin will attempt to push through the move to either Millwall or Rangers before the transfer window closes, with both clubs looking for strikers to boost their promotion bids.
