Emmanuel Petit says Mesut Ozil is Arsenal's best player, but only "when he actually want to be".

Only Kevin De Bruyne has created more chances than Ozil in the Premier League this season, but the German has just one assist and one goal against the Gunners direct rivals.

After months of speculation, Ozil penned a contract extension at the Emirates Stadium in January reportedly close to £300,000 a week, but Petit is unimpressed by his application at times.

When asked on Reddit who Arsenal's best player currently is, Petit replied: "In the current Arsenal team... I have no idea... Ozil when he actually wants to be a player."

Petit was quizzed on a range of topics during his 'Ask Me Anything' session, revealing that "scoring at White Hart Lane" is second only to scoring in the 1998 World Cup final.

On Wenger - who has "integrity and humanity" - and his former manager's possible successor, Petit said: "I don't care who manages the club, I only care about what they are going to do after Arsene's footprint.

"Bring back the winning mentality, and keep the Arsenal brand."

Finally, Petit was also asked for his thoughts on ArsenalFanTV. His response: "What is that?"
