Man Utd-bound Daniel James compared to Ronaldo and Usain Bolt: 'To be so fast like him is really incredible'

Daniel James has been compared to Usain Bolt and Brazil legend Ronaldo ahead of his move to Manchester United.

The Swansea starlet successfully completed him medical at Carrington last week ahead of becoming Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first signing at Old Trafford.

James could be in action for Wales against Hungary in a Euro 2020 qualifier on Tuesday, with opposition manager Marco Rossi paying the 21-year-old a couple of huge compliments ahead of that tie.

The Welsh winger rose to prominence last season with a demonstration of his searing pace in a memorable goal scored against Brentford - with Rossi already a huge fan.

"James' speed reminds me of Usain Bolt... to be so fast like him is really incredible," said Rossi.

The Hungary boss also compared James' running style to that of former Barcelona, Inter and Real Madrid star Ronaldo.

"In the last years I don't remember one player that gave me the sensation," said Rossi.

"James' acceleration and skill is so peculiar, which is why Manchester United have bought him.

"In the past I played against a very fast player who, according to me, was the best after Maradona - Ronaldo.

"He was not (just) known for speed but for everything. His acceleration looked like James. At the moment the skills are a little bit different."

United have not yet confirmed the initial fee for James, which is believed to be between £15-18m - and could rise to £22m with add-ons.
