Cristiano Ronaldo is worth a transfer fee £300million but Real Madrid will never have to cash in on the world player of the year, according to his agent.

Ronaldo has been linked many times with a return to Manchester United yet Jorge Mendes, his representative, has closed the door on a move back to Old Trafford for the man he calls “the best player ever”.

Mendes told the BBC: “He is the best player ever in the world. You can't compare him with anybody else

“One billion. His buyout clause €1bn, so it is €1bn. It is impossible to buy someone like him. If for any reason the club decide to sell him tomorrow for 300 million, someone will pay [but] he will not leave Real Madrid.”

Mendes is one of the most prominent agents in the world. He also represents Jose Mourinho, Radamel Falcao, Angel Di Maria, James Rodriguez, David De Gea, Victor Valdes and Diego Costa.
