Man United vs Chelsea: Blues can exploit flimsy defence to boost top four hopes

The race for a top-four spot shows no signs of slowing down, with Manchester United and Chelsea facing off at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The two Champions League hopefuls play each other having both tasted disappointment already this week - Chelsea in their 2-2 draw at home to Burnley and United in their 2-0 loss at home to Manchester City.

With Arsenal losing away to Wolves on Wednesday night, it means the contest at Old Trafford could prove key to deciding whether Chelsea or United are able to pip the Gunners to a top-four spot.

Fortunately for Chelsea, manager Maurizio Sarri will be in the away dugout on Sunday after being sent off in the draw against Burnley but avoiding a touchline ban.

Yet, the Italian will need all his motivational skills to ensure his side put in a consistent performance across the 90 minutes against United.

A major problem for Chelsea on the road this season has been their poor showings after the half-time break, which cost them against Everton and Liverpool recently.

United, meanwhile, must improve their woeful defensive record this term, which has resulted in the team conceding 50 Premier League goals, while their lacklustre attack must finish off their chances to have any hope of securing all three points on Sunday.
