Juventus have completed the signing of Arsenal target Gonzalo Higuain for a fee in excess of £75million, according to reports in Italy.

The Gunners have made offensive reinforcements a priority this summer and had identified Higuain as a target after failing to secure Jamie Vardy earlier in the transfer window.

But Sky Italy claim that Arsene Wenger has missed another target as the Argentina international has signed a four-year deal with Juventus.

The Blow comes on the same day Lyon confirmed they had rejected a bid in the region £30million from Arsenal for striker Alexandre Lacazette as Wenger's protracted search continues.

"Look we look still for offensive positions and defensive positions. We are very active in the transfer market," Wenger told the club's official website last week.

"It's a long time to go. Everybody has the handbrake on at the moment."
