Jose Mourinho has apologised to Manchester United supporters for the manner of their 4-0 defeat at Chelsea, and insists he is "100 per cent" committed to the Old Trafford cause.

The Portuguese coach made his first return to Stamford Bridge since being sacked as Chelsea coach last December, but saw United slip behind after just 30 seconds of play to a quick-fire Pedro goal.

Gary Cahill, Eden Hazard and N'Golo Kante ensured it was a rout for Antonio Conte's Blues, and Mourinho - who was both mocked and applauded by Chelsea fans - took the blame for a poor team performance back at the Bridge on Sunday.

"The millions of the fans that we have all around the world, they are obviously with a very bad feeling," he told MUTV.

"I feel so sorry for that. I have to apologise for that as the leader of this dressing room, and the only thing I can say is that I am Man United 100 per cent.

"Not 99 per cent and one per cent for Chelsea or for any other club, I am 100 per cent for Man United.

"And because of that I feel deeply at the situation, but there is only one answer, like I was telling the players - training tomorrow, and keep fighting."

When Conte was asked whether he felt Chelsea had destroyed United, the Italian defended Mourinho by adding: "Destroy is a bad word, I don't like it. Maybe we played more well than Manchester United but I think they and Mourinho, like me, need time to work.
