Italy are a pain in the grass

Furious Faroe Islands coach Brian Kerr has accused Italy of giving his side training facilities fit only for grazing sheep.

The former Republic of Ireland boss hit out after Christian Mouritsen hurt his ankle while training, making the forward a doubt for tonight's Euro 2012 qualifier in Florence.

"The grass on our training pitch is so high that all the sheep in the Faroes would take a month to eat it," said Kerr.

With Gianluigi Buffon still sidelined by his World Cup back injury, Bologna goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano is in line to make his first start for Italy.
