Chelsea are set to be without midfielder N'Golo Kante for the rest of the month due to a hamstring injury.

Kante sustained the problem while playing for France during the international break.

The midfielder limped off during the 1-0 win over Bulgaria last Friday before Les Bleus coach Didier Deschamps confirmed he was suffering "a muscular problem behind the thigh".

Kante was examined by club doctors on his return to the training ground on Wednesday.

Coach Antonio Conte will give an update on Kante's condition at his press conference on Friday, but he is facing time on the sidelines.

Kante was instrumental for Chelsea last season after signing from 2015-16 champions Leicester, driving Conte's midfield to earn himself back-to-back winners' medals.

The 26-year-old has played every minute of the 2016-17 Premier League season so far, and has been shortlisted for the 2017 Ballon d'Or award along with Chelsea team-mate Eden Hazard.
