Harry Redknapp has spelt out his determination to keep Robbie Keane at Tottenham.

The striker returned to Spurs from Liverpool in a £12million deal a year ago but is battling with Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe for a starting spot.

That has led to speculation over Keane's future and Aston Villa were this week linked with the 29year-old.

However, Redknapp is adamant the Republic of Ireland skipper will not leave in this month's transfer window.

The Spurs manager said: "Please God, he'll still be here in February. Robbie's here, he is the captain and very important to us, unless someone comes up with £50m or something for him."

Redknapp confirmed chairman Daniel Levy is still talking to Brazilian club Internacional about a move for midfielder Sandro.

Meanwhile, Benitez confirmed today he is interested in Atletico Madrid midfielder Maxi Rodriguez.

"It is true we've talked to Atletico Madrid about signing him," said the Liverpool manager.

The 29-year-old Argentina international joined Atletico in 2005 but has been out of favour since Quique Sanchez Flores took over from Abel Resino as coach at the end of October.
