Harry Redknapp in dark over warning letter to other managers

9 March 2012

Harry Redknapp today insisted he was unaware of a letter that has supposedly been sent to all Premier League managers telling them not to tip him for the England job.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson revealed last night that he had received a letter from the League asking him not to speak about the search for Fabio Capello’s replacement.

Ferguson has backed the Spurs boss to take over but it appears the League are not happy with others tipping Redknapp for the position given that he is currently tied to a contract with Spurs.

Redknapp said today: “I haven’t received a letter, no. I haven’t looked. Maybe there is one. I don’t know whether there is a letter that has gone around to clubs. I don’t know.”

Redknapp confirmed that Michael Dawson is out for the rest of the season after rupturing ankle ligaments in midweek. Winger Aaron Lennon misses tomorrow’s game at Everton after suffering a hamstring injury against Stevenage but Louis Saha has recovered from a knee injury and is fit to face his former club.
