Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola is confident that Antonio Conte will be successful at the club because of his attention to detail and his sheer determination.

Conte was hired by Chelsea in April to help steady the ship at Stamford Bridge after the Blues followed up their title-winning season of 2014-15 with a 10th-placed finish in the top flight.

The former Italy and Juventus boss has certainly reinvigorated Chelsea, leading the club to four wins from seven Premier League games this season.

And Zola believes Conte will win silverware at Chelsea because the absence of Champions League football this term coupled with the Italian's hard-working nature will help him in his aim to haul the club back into contention for major honours.

"For them, it [no Champions League football] is certainly an advantage," Zola said.

"Chelsea and Liverpool are the two teams that are in the top flight and don't have European competition. It can be a good point."
