Tottenham have confirmed the dismissal of Andre Villas-Boas following Sunday's heavy defeat at the hands of Liverpool.

After an under-whelming start to the season despite the outlay of more than £100m on new players in the summer to compensate for the departure of Gareth Bale, Andre Villas-Boas and Spurs have parted ways.
