Eric Bailly has warned title rivals he believes Manchester United will win the Premier League crown this season.

United are second in the table - level with leaders Manchester City - after an unbeaten start to the campaign and Bailly believes there is "more desire" in the camp this term.

Jose Mourinho's men finished sixth last season, but United have developed a habit for killing off teams late on in matches.

"It shows promise because, compared with the team last year, it was more difficult then," Bailly told United Review.

"Even though we had no bad performances, this year there’s something new that has improved, so we are happy about that."

Tottenham are five points behind the Premier League pace-setters after dropping points at Wembley, while Chelsea's defeat to City before the international break has left them a further point back.

Elsewhere, Arsenal have recovered from a difficult August and are level on points with Chelsea, but Bailly thinks United will top the pile come May.

He added: "This year there is more desire, more success at everything we do. It’s important to see the team starting off well in top form, and I think that with the work we’ve done, and the work by the manager and the staff, we’ll continue the way we’ve begun and that will lead us to the Premier League title."
