Jeff Hendrick's late goal was enough to separate Burnley and Newcastle United as matchday 10 in the Premier League concluded on Monday.

A match lacking in quality throughout was settled on 74 minutes when Johann Gudmundsson found an unmarked Hendrick at the back post with Rob Elliot stranded.

Leicester City beat Everton on Sunday afternoon as Claude Puel began his King Power Stadium reign with a win.

Jamie Vardy opened the scoring after fine work by Demarai Gray, before the youngster's cross beat Jordan Pickford via a failed clearance from Jonjoe Kenny for a 2-0 win.

Earlier in the day, Brighton and Southampton shared a point each as Glenn Murray's second-half goal earned the Seagulls a 1-1 home draw on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, Anthony Martial's late goal was enough to down Tottenham at Old Trafford as a tense game with little in the way of quality was separated by a David De Gea goal kick, Romelu Lukaku flick-on and finish from the substitute nine minutes from time.

Spurs stay in third, a position they cannot move down from no matter the other weekend results, but United now boast 22 points after 10 games.

Crystal Palace remain rock-bottom of the table despite claiming a point at the death against West Ham.

Goals from Javier Hernandez and Andre Ayew had seemed enough for Slaven Bilic's team, but Wilfried Zaha's stoppage time strike rescued a 2-2 draw for the Eagles.

Arsenal won 2-1 at home to Swansea City thanks to goals from Sead Kolasinac and Aaron Ramsey, after Tottenham's 1-0 defeat at Manchester United in Saturday's early kick-off.

In Sunday's late action, Everton travel to Leicester after both sides recently sacked their managers.

Burnley host Newcastle United to complete the weekend's action on Monday night.
