Juventus are posing a serious threat to Chelsea in their bid to sign Paris St Germain striker Edinson Cavani this summer.

The Uruguay international wants to leave PSG at the end of the season and is one of the prime targets of Chelsea's next permanent manager Antonio Conte.

Chelsea are expected to confirm the Italy coach's appointment by the end of the month having already agreed personal terms and discussed transfer plans with him.

However, Cavani's brother and agent Walter Guglielmone, suggests the 29-year-old favours a return to Serie A, where he used to play for Napoli, with Juventus.

While admitting he likes Conte's style of play, Guglielmone said: "Juventus is a prestigious club with a great history and a great present - last year they reached the final of the Champions League.

"For Edinson, a return to Italy would absolutely not be a step back in his career. Playing [with Juventus striker Paulo Dybala], he would form one of the strongest duos in Europe.

"The Premier League is where there is more competition between the teams, but Serie A and La Liga are equally difficult and at a high-level.

"Anything is possible in football. In three months, everything can change. Edinson may remain at PSG, which has an ambitious project.

"It will depend on many aspects. Now, as my brother says, it's time to think only of winning the Champions League (with PSG). In June, if anything, there will be time to think of the market."

Conte, who managed Juventus between 2011-14, is facing more frustration in the window from his former club.

Juventus want to buy another from Conte's wish-list, Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan. They are also looking to prevent Paul Pogba, Leonardo Bonucci and Juan Cuadrado, who is currently on loan from Chelsea, from moving to west London too.
