Chelsea hope Didier Drogba’s return as coach will help keep Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge.
As Standard Sport revealed on Tuesday, Real Madrid are planning to step up their efforts to sign the Belgian now that his idol Zinedine Zidane is the new manager.
Paris St Germain are interested although it is understood Hazard has little appetite for going back to Ligue 1, where he played for Lille before securing a £32million switch to Chelsea in 2012.
Hazard only signed a new five‑year contract last March and Chelsea are unwilling to sell him.
However, the 25-year-old has struggled for form and confidence this season and is unsure about his future at the club.
He has admitted previously that he wants to play for Real Madrid at some point in his career and could be tempted should they make a huge offer.
Chelsea have put Guus Hiddink in charge for the rest of the season and are trying to find someone to take over on a permanent basis in the summer, with Pep Guardiola and Diego Simeone at the top of their wish list.
It is understood Hazard wants to wait to see who will take charge before deciding on his future but Drogba’s appointment would improve the situation as he formed a very close bond with the winger last term.
The 37-year-old was a huge influence in the dressing room during the 2014-15 campaign when Hazard won both the PFA and FWA Player of the Season awards.

Drogba confirmed last night he is in talks with Montreal Impact over his future, although denied reports he has already decided to retire.
