David Ospina has admitted he is finding life hard on the Arsenal sidelines as he prepares for a rare start against Hull in the FA Cup.
As revealed by Standard Sport on Thursday the 27-year-old is ready to quit the club in the summer after making just four appearances under Arsene Wenger this term.
Ospina has appeared just once since his calamitous display in a 3-2 defeat to Olympiakos in September, where dropped a corner into his own net, and has not yet featured in a Premier League match.
It has been a frustrating season for the Colombian international, who had overtaken Wojciech Szczesny to become Wenger’s number one in the second half of last season but now finds his way blocked by summer signing Petr Cech.
The outstanding displays of the former Chelsea number one suggest that there is little chance of Ospina, though highly rated by his manager, re-establishing himself in the Arsenal goal. Turkish giants Besiktas have been open in their courting of the goalkeeper but for now he remains focused on impressing when given the opportunity.
“It’s hard, because as a player, you always want to play,” he said.
“If you don’t play you have to give your best in training and make sure you train to the highest possible level in order to ensure that you are ready whenever the manager calls on you.”

Ospina added: “It’s very important for me to play in the FA Cup. Whenever I play, I want to give my sincere best.
“I’m always looking forward to playing my next game and I want to make a huge contribution to this club in this competition.”
