Christian Eriksen is on a mission to give Tottenham more

Christian Eriksen wants to show there is more to come from him — starting with Sunday’s game at Swansea.

The midfielder had a slow start to his Tottenham career following his £11million summer move from Ajax but has hit form with three goals in his last four Premier League games.

Eriksen, who this week received the award for Denmark’s Player of the Year, said: “I have a lot more to show. I’m lucky I can provide goals and create some chances but I can still do better and I will work every day to do that.

“It’s been a good career until now and I’m really happy to win the Danish award and to score some goals. I’m really happy to play here.”

Swansea finished ninth last season and also won the Capital One Cup, earning them a place in the Europa League but they have found life tougher this term and they are only three points above 18th place.

Their goalkeeper Gerhard Tremmel believes a tough run of matches at the start of the season has contributed to their problems. Swansea’s first three home games were against Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal while their opening away fixture was a 1-0 defeat at Spurs.

“At the start of this season we had a terrible schedule – all the big teams,” said Tremmel. “We didn’t pick points up and everybody was worrying about what’s going on with Swansea, the Europa League and everything.

“This week is going to be a tough game again against Tottenham but at home. There we can beat anyone.”
