John Terry admits he loved being involved in a big game at Wembley again, but is adamant it hasn't tempted him to come out of international retirement.

Terry was named man-of-the-match on his first appearance at the national stadium for three years as Chelsea cruised to a 2-0 victory over Tottenham in the Capital One Cup.

It has sparked more talk from the pundits over how he remains the Premier League's best English centre half.

The 34-year-old stepped down from the England side in controversial circumstances in September, 2012.

He was charged, and eventually found guilty, by the FA of racially abusing then QPR defender Anton Ferdinand 'on the balance of probabilities', despite being found not guilty in court.

Yet despite enjoying the showpiece occasion, where England coach Roy Hodgson was in attendance, he has no interest in reversing his decision.

Terry said: "They started playing the national anthem before the game and I was going then.

"I have missed it, playing in these big stadiums and in these competitions and I’m delighted to get back to Wembley."

When pressed if hearing the national anthem led to any thoughts about an England return, he added: "No. No. The simple answer is no.

"I don't want to go into it too much. Being back at Wembley, the pitch was amazing, the atmosphere, the stadium is unbelievable. For me, probably one of the best I've ever played in.

"With that in mind, that's never crossed my mind. It's finished, it's drawn a line under, and the England squad have moved on now."
