A controversial penalty scored by Cesc Fabregas denied West Ham a first win at Chelsea in 14 years, and a place in the top four.

The Spaniard scored an 89th-minute penalty to equalise for Guus Hiddink’s side for the second time in the match, after Chelsea trailed twice from goals from Manuel Lanzini and substitute Andy Carroll.

West Ham looked set for victory, hoping to emulate their victory at the Bridge back in 1986 which lead them to a third-place finish in the division.

But they had to endure late heartbreak; but should the decision have been given?

Loftus-Cheek was adjudged to have been fouled by Michail Antonio, and referee Robert Madley awarded the spot.
