John Terry has been his handed his final start as a Chelsea player for the visit of Sunderland on Sunday.

The defender, who has been with the Blues since the age of 14, will play his last game in a Chelsea shirt when David Moyes' side take on the Premier League champions at Stamford Bridge.

Terry, 36, started the 4-3 win over Watford on Monday night - a match he scored in - after mostly being used as a substitute by manager Antonio Conte this season.

But the Italian has decided to hand Terry a start in his farewell game for the west Londoners as David Luiz and Cesar Azpilicueta return to Chelsea's defence.

Thibaut Courtois also starts in goal after sitting out the match against Watford while Cesc Fabregas plays alongside N'Golo Kante in midfield and Diego Costa starts up front for the Blues.

The game against Sunderland will see Chelsea attempt to become the first English side to win 30 games in a 38-match season, with Jose Mourinho's champions setting the current record of 29 victories back in the 2004/05 and 2005/06 campaigns.

Meanwhile, already-relegated Sunderland are without 11 injured players for their final match in the Premier League this season.

Chelsea starting XI: Courtois, Azpilicueta, David Luiz, Terry, Moses, Kante, Fabregas, Alonso, Willian, Costa, Hazard.

Chelsea subs: Begovic, Zouma, Cahill, Chalobah, Matic, Pedro, Batshuayi.
