Chelsea are making a new move for Fernando Llorente after failing to persuade Swansea to let him join on loan in January.

Standard Sport revealed Antonio Conte’s interest in the in the last window as Conte wanted to strengthen his choice of back-up strikers with Chelsea chasing the title.

Conte remains keen on the 6ft 4in Spain international, whose height and ability to hold up the ball, suits Chelsea's system of playing with just one forward.

Although the 32-year-old is in the final year of his contract, Swansea are keen to keep a player, whose 15 goals helped them avoid relegation.

Whether at Swansea or Chelsea Llorente faces a race to build his match fitness after breaking his arm whilst cycling on a family holiday.

The Welsh side have moved to improve their striking options with the loan signing of Tammy Abraham, who signed a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge before departing on loan.
