Abdul Baba Rahman is set to join Schalke on a season-long loan.

The Ghana international joined from Augsburg for a deal worth up to £21.7m last year, but failed to make an impact, making just 11 League starts.

In January, the 22-year-old admitted he was frustrated over his lack of first team opportunities, but the arrival of Conte hasn't improved his fortunes.

Significantly, 19-year-old Academy product Ola Aina has featured far more in games during pre-season under Conte and started against Real Madrid on Saturday night.

Reflecting on his struggles for game time at the turn of the year Baba Rahman said: "Of course it is frustrating for any footballer to be forced to watch from the stands. I do not want to experience that any longer.

"You have to get used to the Premier League and a big club like Chelsea first when you are a young player like I am."
