Thiago Silva, Mason Mount, Raheem Sterling and Conor Gallagher are back in Chelsea training ahead of the return of the Premier League.

The quartet were given a week off after Brazil and England were knocked out of the World Cup in the quarter-finals but they were back at Cobham on Sunday morning.

Silva, Mount, Sterling and Gallagher will be available for selection when Chelsea return to Premier League action against Bournemouth on December 27.

Brazil captain Silva suffered World Cup disappointment as the Selecao crashed out on penalties to Croatia. Mount and Sterling were late substitutes as England lost to France.

Chelsea face a crunch period when the domestic season resumes.

The Blues lost four of their last five matches before the World Cup and are in danger of missing out on Champions League qualification.

Mateo Kovacic and Hakim Ziyech, who played in the World Cup third/fourth-placed play-off in Qatar on Saturday, are due back at Cobham late next week.

Graham Potter hopes to have Reece James and Wesley Fofana back this month following long spells out.

It is unclear when Ben Chilwell, N’Golo Kante or Kepa Arrizabalaga will be fit to return.
