Vincent Aboubakar ‘not impressed’ by Liverpool star Mohamed Salah

Cameroon striker Vincent Aboubakar has taken a fresh swipe at Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.

The 30-year-old has previously been somewhat dismissive of Salah, claiming the Egypt talisman was not on the same level as Kylian Mbappe during the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.

Aboubakar, currently playing for Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr, believes he would be able to match Salah’s goalscoring exploits were he given the chance to play for a “big club”.

Salah has established himself as one of the most lethal forwards playing in Europe, scoring 170 goals in 274 appearances for Liverpool since joining from AS Roma in the summer of 2017.

A champion of both England and Europe, the former Chelsea winger signed a long-term contract extension at Anfield earlier this summer and will remain a key player there for years to come.

Aboubakar did manage to outscore Salah at this year’s AFCON, bagging eight goals to win the Golden Boot, though it was Egypt who made it to the final, losing to Senegal.

Speaking to 90FootballFR, the striker said: ’I’m not impressed by him. I can do what he does.

“I just don’t have the opportunity to play in a big club.’”
