Burnley 1 Manchester City 1: Premier League leaders held as Ederson impresses at Turf Moor

Burnley fought back to claim a spirited 1-1 draw against Premier League leaders Manchester City at Turf Moor.

Pep Guardiola's City started Saturday's early kick-off in impressive fashion, with Danilo striking a superb 25-yard effort into the top corner of Nick Pope's net.

But City squandered chances to put the game to bed with Raheem Sterling somehow missing a tap-in from three yards out, while Ederson was on fine form to make two world-class saves in either half to keep Burnley at bay.

But Sean Dyche's Clarets were not to be denied, as Johann Berg Gudmundsson met substitute Matthew Lowton's cross to volley home a deserved equaliser with eight minutes left to secure a draw.

The draw took City 16 points clear at the top of the table, but will allow second-placed Manchester United to cut the gap to 13 points if they beat Huddersfield at Old Trafford later on Saturday.
