Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato reveals he turned down a move to Tottenham

Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato has revealed that he declined a move to Tottenham this summer after talks with the club.

The 24 year-old former AC Milan striker told Brazil's SporTV: 'Tottenham had called Corinthians to ask for my transfer. I sat at the table with the club and my agent and I decided I wanted to stay.'

Pato joined Sao Paolo based club Corinthians in January after falling out of favour in Milan following a strong of inury problems.

THe pacy striker was once hailed as Brazil's next big star after dazzling as a teenager at AC Milan.

His improvement at Corinthians has seen him recalled to Luiz Felipe Scolari's Brazil squad for recent friendlies against Portugal and Australia.

It comes amid reports in Italy claiming that Tottenham and Arsenal could both look at signing the star in January.
