Hoffenheim defender Niklas Sule turned down a move to England in favour of joining Bayern Munich this summer,.

Chelsea were interested in the 21-year-old, but it was Bayern who sealed a deal for the Germany international, thought to be worth around £17.5million.

Sule, who will move to Bayern at the end of this season on a five-year contract, said: “I did a lot of thinking with my family and friends and decided that moving to England wasn’t the right step yet.

"I had good talks with Bayern and it’s a unique chance that I want to take advantage of.”

The youngster is equally unfazed by having Jerome Boateng, Mats Hummels and Javi Martinez for competition. “I can learn a lot from them,” he said.
