Standard Sport assesses the individual performances from Villa Park where late goals from Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero secured a 2-0 win for Manchester City against Aston Villa.
It was a slow burner of a match, with no shots on target for either side in the first half as Villa did a good job of keeping the champions at bay.
The game opened up considerably after the interval however and both sides missed good openings in the opening moments of the second period.
Villa looked like they might hold on to grab a point but City struck twice in the last eight minutes to secure an important victory.
First Toure drove forward and fired home from the edge of the box, and six minutes later Sergio Aguero wrapped things up with a superb strike from 25 yards out.
