Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez vows to continue intensive style of play - 'I’ll slow down when I retire'

Alexis Sanchez has vowed not to "slow down" until he retires and insists there is no secret to his intense style of play.

The Chile international has been in superb form for Arsene Wenger's side this season, scoring 12 goals in 17 Premier League appearances.

Sanchez has thrived in a new central role, leading the Gunners' high press with aplomb and earning a flurry of plaudits.

The 28-year-old's work rate has helped to set him apart from other forwards in the division and Sanchez is adamant he will continue to give everything for the cause.

“I have always been like this,” Alexis told Arsenal's official website.

"I will slow down after I retire, but for the time being I will carry on like this.

“I just try to train well, sleep well and be professional at my job. There's not much of a secret to it.”

Sanchez's long-term future has been a source of speculation in recent weeks with his contract at Emirates Stadium set to expire in 18 months.

The forward's performances this season have seen him begin to be labelled as one of the world's best players and Sanchez is aiming to continue his upward trajectory.

“My career won't last forever and I am aiming to be one of the best players in the world. I want to do my best and be professional until my career ends.

“I enjoy football a lot, I always wanted to be one of the best players in the world and I've been saying that since I was a little boy," he added.
