Arsenal and Valencia investigating Nazi salutes and condemn offensive gestures made by away fans

Arsenal are working with Valencia to track down supporters who taunted home fans with Nazi salutes during last night’s game.

Footage emerged on social media this morning in which Valencia supporters from last night could be seen making the gestures.

The Spanish club have condemned the actions of supporters in the away end expressing in a statement its “strongest repulsion and zero tolerance”.

Valencia today announced they are working to identify those involved, but are also “trying to obtain information… about possible provocations prior to said verbal and gestural confrontation”.

Arsenal utterly condemn racist behaviour and incidents of this nature and are calling on witness statements so effective and swift action can be taken.

Six Valencia fans were ejected from Emirates Stadium last night for foul and abusive language, though no arrests have been made over the incident shown in the video, which is being reviewed by The Met.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will hold a guard of honour for the departing Aaron Ramsey and the retiring Petr Cech at Sunday’s match against Brighton.

The game will be the Gunners’ last home match before the influential pair leave the club at the end of the season.

Injured midfielder Ramsey, 28, is joining Italian champions Juventus in the summer.
