Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski is pleased to be back amongst the goals after his lengthy injury absence.

The striker netted a first-half brace for Arsenal as they ran out comfortable winners in their fourth round FA Cup tie against the League One side at the Emirates.

28-year-old Podolski was sidelined for four months with a hamstring injury earlier this season and the German has spoken of his frustration during his time out.

Speaking to Arsenal Player, he said: "It was a long time for me because I never had a long injury before.

"It was not easy. You work hard, you train hard and finally you're back.

"I don't know if I am 100 per cent, but I think I played very good and we will see in the next week.

"You are always happy when you play and score goals for the team, so it was good for me, good for the team and important in the end we did the job to be in the next round."

Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla scored late on as the Gunners cruised into the fifth round with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain making a welcome return to Arsenal’s starting line-up.

The England midfielder – who will have his sights set on a World Cup spot in Brazil – picked up a serious knee injury on the opening day of this season’s Premier League campaign but managed 71 minutes against Coventry after his substitute cameo against Fulham last weekend.

"I am not match fit yet and in the second half that showed a little bit in my performance, but that will come," the 20-year-old told the club's official website.

"That's a stepping stone in the right direction for me and with a few more starts I should be back to match fitness."

Manager Arsene Wenger will be pleased to see two of his important players well on their way to recovery with Theo Walcott ruled out for the remainder of the season after rupturing a cruciate knee ligament.

Following the victory on Friday, Wenger was quick to dispel rumours linking German playmaker Julian Draxler with the Premier League side. The Gunner's manager called reports linking his club with a £35m bid for the player an "illusion".
