Plans confirmed for potential Arsenal parade with Premier League trophy

Logistics involved mean prior planning needs to be in place

Plans have been confirmed for Arsenal’s trophy parade should they win the Premier League title

The Gunners sit top of the table ahead of the final few games of the season, albeit they must hope champions Manchester City slip-up in their pursuit.

City, who boast much more experience than Mikel Arteta’s side during title run-ins, have a game in hand and can pile the pressure on Arsenal should they win at Fulham on Saturday before Arteta takes his team to Manchester United on Sunday.

Should Arsenal pip City to their first League title in 20 years, plans for a potential open-top bus parade have been pencilled in for Monday 20 May - the day after the final game of the season.

The logistical requirements involved mean the club simply would not be able to manage a potential parade had prior planning not been in place.

The route, which is the same one Arsene Wenger’s ‘Invincibles’ team of 2003/04 followed, would start at the Emirates Stadium at 5pm BST before travelling along Drayton Park, Aubert Park, Highbury Grove, St Paul’s Road, Upper Street and back to the stadium at 7pm.

One back at the ground, there would be a short appearance from the players on a podium above The Armoury store on Hornsey Road before the celebrations finish at 8pm.
