Arsenal fans were thrilled to sign goalkeeper Petr Cech from Premier League rivals Chelsea earlier this summer.

The 33-year-old's arrival has been heralded as the final piece in Arsene Wenger's puzzle by some sections of the club's supporters and Cech, right on cue, enjoyed a memorable competitive debut for the Gunners in Sunday's Community Shield.

Wenger's hoodoo against Jose Mourinho was finally ended, courtesy of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's first half strike, plus a timely clean sheet from Cech.

With such a huge psychological boost secured ahead of the news season, Gunners fans are probably entitled to get a tad carried away.

Expect a few selfies to be on show in the next few hours, Roy Keane.

However, one fan in particular took things a little too far when it came to welcoming their new goalkeeper.

Replica shirts and merchandise are part and parcel of the modern game. But protective headgear? Surely that's one step too far...
