Andre Villas-Boas' Spurs kick off new season on TV

Tottenham will open this season’s live coverage of the Premier League after their trip to Newcastle was selected for television.

Andre Villas-Boas’ first game in charge will be screened live at 5.30pm on ESPN on the opening Saturday of the 2012-13 campaign.

Chelsea’s first game, at Wigan, has also been selected and will now be shown on Sky on August 19.

West Ham fans will have to wait until the following weekend to see their team in action on TV, with their trip to Swansea on Sky on August 25.

The north London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham has been selected for the early kick-off on November 17 while Arsenal v Chelsea (September 29), West Ham v Arsenal (October 6) and Spurs v Chelsea (October 20) will also be televised.
