Alvaro Morata said he feels "very lucky" to play alongside Eden Hazard at Chelsea.

The pair started a match together for the first time this season as Chelsea took on Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Hazard and Morata struck up an instant connection on the pitch, with the Belgian setting up the striker's 59th-minute equaliser before creating another chance for the summer signing later on.

Both impressed as Antonio Conte's side snatched a deserved victory in added time and, after the Group C victory, Morata was full of praise for his team-mate.

Speaking to BT Sport, Morata said: "It is a very important win for us. It was a big test.

"Atletico Madrid were in the Champions League final a few years ago and now we can go home relaxed and put this mentality into the Premier League.

"It is always a good feeling to score the first goal in a new stadium. I am very happy.

"It is great to play with a player like Eden Hazard. He is one of the best in the world and I am very lucky to play with him."

Talking then about his superb start to life at Chelsea, which has seen Morata score seven goals in seven games, he added: "I am happy with my start but the most important thing is the team and winning the game."
